Kappa Delta Sigma’s chosen philanthropy is the Vera Bradley Breast Foundation for Breast Cancer. Being a collection of women from all walks of life, it was important for us to choose a philanthropy that does not discriminate… and as all too many people know, breast cancer does not discriminate. KDS proudly donates 100% of the proceeds raised by sisters through its various philanthropy events every semester to VBBCF.

The sisters of Kappa Delta Sigma pride themselves on outstanding community service, on both a group and individual level. Below are our annual events, though we are always open to helping out wherever possible! If you’d like to get KDS involved in your event, please contact Katie Miller at


24-Hour Bike-A-Thon | Sisters bike in the Sullivan Student Center for 24 hours to raise money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Clarkson University’s Sigma Chi Derby Days | Sisters compete in events with other North Country sororities from Clarkson and Potsdam State to raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network. Our specific fundraising event is a Karaoke Night at Pub 56!

Shawna’s Walk for Wishes | Sisters sit at a face painting table during the event to sponsor a local child in her quest to grant other children wishes through the Make a Wish Foundation.

Maplewood Nursing Home | Each weekend, sisters go to the nursing home to volunteer and play Bingo with the elderly. We also make Valentine’s Day cards in February.

Phantom in the Park | Sisters participate in this Canton community event by providing a face painting table.

Trick or Treating | Sisters give out candy to local children/trick-or-treaters!

Study-A-Thon | Sisters help out at the Panhellenic Council-sponsored event, which provides stress-relievers for the St. Lawrence community.

Dana-Farber Christmas Project | Sisters donate gift cards for sick families in need during the holiday season.

Epilepsy Awareness | Sisters sell pins and hair ties in the Sullivan Student Center for epilepsy foundations.

NCPR Carnival | Sisters help in organizing and playing games with the community youth.

Relay for Life | Sisters walk and participate in activities for 24 hours to raise money for the American Cancer Society.

Peter Rabbit in the Park | Sister participate in the Canton community event by helping out with the Easter egg hunt, while also face painting.

Kick It for… | Sisters face paint and raise money for local, sponsored children to fund medical expenses and treatment.
